Over the past decades there has been an explosion in the demand of rare earth metals, as more and more devices requiring rare earth metals rise.
Devices such as computer memory, rechargeable batteries, magnet, and even defense equipment/devices such as night vision goggles, precision-guided weapons and GPS equipment require rare earth metals.
Companies mining and refining rare earth metals are profiting from the decades long increase in demand of these metals.
Amid the COVID-19 crisis, the global market for Rare Earth Metals estimated at US$4 Billion in the year 2020, is projected to reach a revised size of US$6.6 Billion by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 7.3% over the analysis period 2020-2027.
China has recently placed restrictions on its Rare Earth Metals exports, this could potentially see REM stocks of companies based outside grow exponentially. I strongly recommend NYSE: MP as the best REM stock to ride this wave.
There are 17 rare earth elements but cerium, neodymium, lanthanum, praseodymium, yttrium and dysprosium are the most commonly used.
